AIGA Knoxville is proud to present Knoxville's 2nd Annual Design Week---five days of activities and events that will allow designers, creatives and non-designers to explore the profession of design as practiced in East Tennessee. Together, we will explore answers to the question: What is Design?
This site is the collective live journal of Design Week. It will also serve as the hub for Tuesday's 1:1 where students and interns will document their day with a local design studio.

Today I found out that Nathana is responsible for Tennessee’s beautiful marriage liscenses. Mystery Solved!

Hey y’all. This is Kevin reporting in with some info about our trip to Tombras Group. We had a wonderful, insightful afternoon with Mike and Isaac. We learned a lot and had some great conversation about some of day to day happenings a the Tombras Group and the industry in general. I took some pictures of some of the sights we saw throughout the day.

Isaac shows us his desk area.

We would like to thank everyone at Tombras Group for taking the time and attention to show us around and have a great discussion!
This meeting started early and well. Coffee at Remedy is a good start.
Haseeb Qureshi and I worked on some Wordpress custom theme techniques. This is a valuable skill and it is nice to have someone to quiz on how to do it better.
I spent an exciting afternoon with the wonderful people at Designsensory! I loved meeting everyone and seeing what projects they were working on. It was interesting seeing all of the work and thought that goes into design, particularly website design. I was impressed with the breadth and variety of their client base. I never realized before all of the different roles that contribute to a project, such as tech and strategy. They were really kind to me and were willing to answer any questions that I had. They made my first Design Week experience a great one!
